Are you tired of wearing the same old T-shirts over and over again? Or maybe you really like the design, but the shirt is much too big? Or maybe the shirt is too plain and you want to give it that special look? Well, today is your lucky day! I am going to tell you about 3 fantastic ways to recycle your old T-shirts! This will help you to create a totally new shirt, craft a unique design for your shirt or transform your garment into an entirely new you!
Ready to get started?
Necklace or scarf
To make this necklace or mid-season scarf, you will need the following items:
- 1 or more T-shirts to recycle,
- Studs, beads, ribbons, or whatever other decorative items you would like!
First, cut the T-shirt through the armhole and do the same thing with the hemline. You will have a rectangle left over. Then cut into strips forming rings. Decide on the thickness of the strips and how chunky you want your necklace or scarf to be!
As noted previously, you can use several T-shirts for this project. Combine colors, or just use one color if preferred.
Then join the rings together, as the picture shows with the rest of the T-shirt material, or use any ribbon you like. You may wear it plain or decorate with accessories for a brighter look!
You will require one T-shirt for each bag. First, remove the sleeves. Fold the shirt in half as the picture shows, and remove the collar. Finally, make a hemline at the end to close. Use a sewing machine to help you or you can do it by hand. Flip the garment over so the hemline is neater!
You can also make hemlines on the edges of the sleeves for a neater look. Or make cuts like the picture shows so your bags have a netting effect.
Nice idea, isn’t it?
As noted in the beginning, it takes just a little to fully adjust any garment! In the following pictures, you will note how a few simple cuts and stitches can transform a simple T-shirt into a fashionable design like this braided back!
So sexy, don’t you think?
These humongous shirts can also work as great bases for tops or dresses! Or you may choose to make decorative details with the remaining fabric.
All you need is some creativity and a few unused T-shirts to create these beautiful works of art!
Let your imagination soar and see what you can do! Until the next time!
