YaSabe Consumer Insights: What do Hispanics Search for on Their Mobile Devices?

Based on search logs from YaSabe.com, which contains information about hundreds of thousands of queries from Hispanics searching from their mobile devices, many mobile queries are similar to searches made on the web such as employment, restaurants, and attorneys.  But there are some unique mobile queries that show how Hispanics turn to mobile technology when they need to find a product or service that’s nearby.

Hispanics often searched for gruas (towing services) and clinicas (clinics).  While apartamentos (apartments) was also a popular query on mobile bienes raices (real estate) was less popular than on the web.  While there are some interesting dynamics and differences between mobile and web, it is clear that users that search for local merchants using their mobile devices are among the most desirable customers for local merchants; these Hispanic consumers are usually close by and ready to buy.

Latinos in the U.S used several different mobile devices to search.  We know that in the US, 24% of all Apple iPhones were purchased by Hispanics.  Here is a breakdown of the different devices that were used by Hispanics to access YaSabe:

Based on the devices we know that Apple is the singular most important device manufacturer.  However when it comes to operating system, Android is the leading mobile OS with more than half of the queries on YaSabe.

Advertisers And The Hispanic Consumer

Last month we published an article highlighting several of our “Did You Know” tweets.  This post highlights some interesting facts and figures that demonstrate why US Hispanics are increasingly digitally “connected” and why they are among the ideal consumers:

- The Hispanic online market in the US grew by 5 million individuals from 2010 to 2011

- Hispanics are 21% more likely to post links, articles, videos online

-  27% of Hispanic users spend 6 hours or more a day on social media sites

- Hispanics spent $5.15B this past holiday season on mobile devices

- Hispanics in the US spend more on personal care products than any other demographic

- Hispanics make fewer shopping trips and spend more per trip than non-Hispanics

Advertisers have definitely recognized that the spending power of Hispanics can no longer be ignored.  What we are seeing now, is that as Hispanic consumer have becoming increasingly digitally savvy and connected, businesses are working to customize their marketing message and channels in very different ways online to truly reach Hispanic consumers.

4 Tips For Choosing a Chiropractor

For anyone that has had an accident, maybe a car accident, a fall from a bike, or a sports injury, a visit to the chiropractor usually follows. Chiropractors specialize in helping people who suffer from back, limb and neck pain. While their techniques may seem unconventional to some, they are often very effective in pain treatment and management.  The following tips should help you find a good chiropractor.

1. Services Offered
It’s good to make sure that the chiropractor offers services that you will need; ideally it would be good if they specialized in your particular need.  Most chiropractors in the following areas: neck pain, sports injuries, weight loss, workers compensation, headache, massage, and therapeutic exercise.  They should also offer more unconventional forms of therapy such as electro muscle stimulation (EMS) and heat and cold therapy.  A good chiropractor should also have free initial consultations. If you are bi-lingual and just feel comfortable talking to a chiropractor in you native language, you want to make sure they can speak your language as well.  Location is also very important, should you have multiple visits to the same location, you should want a chiropractor nearby.

2. Insurance Coverage
Most medical insurance policies cover a limited number of visits to a chiropractor. Those with strict budgets can still benefit from the affordable rates, which are offered when the coverage limit has been exceeded. To ensure that you are properly covered, contact your provider and ask for a list of practitioners that are covered under your policy. Make sure that a chiropractor is covered under your plan before you make an appointment, even if the recommendation is from your friends or family.

3. Bedside Manner
After you have obtained a shortlist of doctors who have been recommended by your family or friends and are covered under your insurance plan, you can contact their offices and schedule a meet and greet appointment. During your initial consultation, you should consider several factors including the quality of customer care in the establishment, the office environment and the staff.  Does the doctor and his/her staff seem competent? You should also look for their business online and see for yourself what kind practice they have.  See if there are any online reviews that can help you narrow down your choices. Once the chiropractor meets all your specific requirements, you can make a formal appointment.

4. Alternative Medicine

Most chiropractors now offer alternative medicine options at their offices. Some of these options include acupuncture, therapeutic massage and hypnotherapy. In most cases, their offices will also have these specialists.

There is strong evidence showing that chiropractic treatment is very effective in alleviating pain and aches. You do not have to live with the pain anymore, find a good chiropractor near you. YaSabe is also a great resource for locating local chiropractors, please visit us here: http://www.yasabe.com/es/s/usa/Chiropractors.html!
